Recycled Etihad Aircraft wall panel, leather, textile, lifejacket
A multidimensional upcycled art piece utilising Etihad aircraft interiors to encapsulate a textural moment of the airline.
Incorporating multiple smaller works, ‘bags of gratitude’ which may be dismantled for functional use again.
The idea is one that transitions design craft to a practice of circular economy; from Airline to Art Installation to function again.
Celebrating the Abu Dhabi skyline and the monumental UAE Mars Mission Transition ‘Aintiqal’ is a work of Time, Place and Space.
The geometric positioning and method of creation acknowledge the historical relevance of mathematics and trigonometry to the region.
‘Bags of gratitude’ is a term included to recognise the precious resources used to provide the materials.
Linking a sense of place to the artwork we celebrate the city skyline of Abu Dhabi in the view from the window.
The small bags surrounding serve to hint at neatly packed luxury luggage and a sense of
organised adventure for the traveller.
